Become a Volunteer at Your Library

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Nancy Guinn Library.

If you are willing to give two hours a week and believe that the library is important to the community, we invite you to be part of our team.  Areas of service include:

  1. Be a library docent and answer frequently-asked-questions patrons have about using the library, such as how to get a library card, how to find a certain book, etc.  Don't worry about knowing all the answers--you will be supplied with a list of the frequently asked questions and the answers.  There is a class training session for this position.

  2. Pack books to be returned to other PINES libraries through the courier service.

  3. Other tasks, as needed, depending on seasonal factors.

There are a few requirements to be a volunteer:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age, and a senior in high school or a graduate.
  • You must show proof of identity and be able to pass a background check.

If you meet these criteria, please fill out the online application, or pick one up the next time you visit the library.
