Become a Volunteer at Your Library
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Nancy Guinn Library.
If you are willing to give two hours a week and believe that the library is important to the community, we invite you to be part of our team. Areas of service include:
-
Be a library docent and answer frequently-asked-questions patrons have about using the library, such as how to get a library card, how to find a certain book, etc. Don't worry about knowing all the answers--you will be supplied with a list of the frequently asked questions and the answers. There is a class training session for this position.
-
Pack books to be returned to other PINES libraries through the courier service.
-
Other tasks, as needed, depending on seasonal factors.
There are a few requirements to be a volunteer:
- You must be at least 18 years of age, and a senior in high school or a graduate.
- You must show proof of identity and be able to pass a background check.
If you meet these criteria, please fill out the online application, or pick one up the next time you visit the library.
