Talking Books Service
Georgia Library for Accessible Services provides Braille and recorded materials to qualifying individuals who cannot use standard printed materials, such as those who are blind or have a physical limitation that prevents holding a book or turning pages. This free service provides books on tape and special play-back equipment via postage-free mail, and is delivered to the home of the subscriber.
Recorded books include all genres of literature: non-fiction, biographies, fiction best sellers, classics, mysteries, romance and adventure. Books for children are also available, as well as over seventy popular magazines. Patrons can request certain titles or have certain titles selected for them, based on the interests they indicate on the application form.
